You are invited to participate in a research project regarding the presence and use of prayer spaces on college/university campuses.
Please read this consent form carefully and completely. It explains the research project, procedures, and risks or benefits associated with participation. You do not have to participate in this study, and may withdraw at any time. Questions about this project can be directed to the researchers and Institutional Review Board staff identified at the bottom of this form.
Why is this research study being done?
This study intends to examine the intersection of libraries and prayer/spiritual/meditation spaces at higher education institutions in the United States.
What will happen in this research study?
This research consists of a survey. Your responses are important to us, however you are free to skip any questions that you do not wish to answer.
What are the risks and possible discomforts from being in this research study?
There are no known risks in taking part in this study. If the content of the survey makes you feel uncomfortable, you are welcome to skip that question or stop the survey at any time.
What are the possible benefits from being in this research study?
There are no known benefits of participation. Participants in this survey provide insight on prayer behavior and spaces on college/university campuses. The investigators intend to provide best practice guidelines to the library community based on the responses.
What other options are available instead of being in this research study?
You may decide not to participate in this research.
How long will you take part in this research study?
The survey will take less than 15 minutes to complete.
How will your privacy and confidentiality be protected if you decide to take part in this research study?
Personally identifiable information will not be collected and will not be connected in any way to responses. The anonymous results of this survey may be published or shared in presentations.
Who is paying for this research study?
This study is unfunded.
What are your rights if you take part in this research study?
Taking part in this research study is voluntary.
You do not have to participate in this research.
If you choose to participate in this research, you have the right to stop at any time.
